DBA - Mongols v Georgians

DBA games are mostly medieval period with Mr. G- P-. They are in 25mm, not 28mm, as Mr. G- P- has an extensive collection of old school figures. I used to have loads of 15mm DBA but can now barely see them much less manoeuvre them about, so they are being drip-fed onto Ebay and the cash used to buy 25mms.

This particular scrap is a 36-a-side between my Mongols and Mr. G- P-'s Georgians. The Mongols are half Warrior Miniatures and half Irregular Miniatures Il-Khanids from before these were remodelled to 28mm. The stone-thrower is built from matchsticks, skewers, thread and so on. The Georgians are old Irregular Miniatures.

The Mongols
The game was a bit of a disaster for the Mongols. Georgian archers in the built-up area pretty much blocked off outflanking to the left, and the artillery and foot who should have dealt with the troublesome monastery stood in the centre and did nothing, even though there was a road leading to the monastery whihc would have made moving even the artillery straightforward. That left the Mongol right to pile into the Georgian left of heavier cavalry on a constricted frontage and with no room for outflanking where they unsurprisingly were beaten.

These are the Warrior Mongols in closeup. The man-powered stone-thrower is home-made and the crew are Irregular.

These are the old Irregular Miniatures Il-Khanids. A few Cumans from Warrior have strayed into the third picture.
